Remarks / more information:

The Carroll lab is interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms of Estrogen Receptor (ER) transcription and how this influences cancer progression and response to hormone therapies. A combination of Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP) with high-throughput sequencing and Mass Spectrometry, allows us to study the binding of ER genome-wide in cell culture and tumor biopsies. This work has led to insights into the mechanisms of ER recruitment, as well as the occurrence of hormone refractory disease.
