Paul Gardiner is an epidemiologist and behaviour change scientist. He has over 15 years of experience in biomedical, clinical and public health research with a focus on understanding and influencing sedentary behaviour in older adults. Prolonged sitting is being acknowledged as a public health risk for many chronic conditions and premature mortality. However, less is known about any potential role that sitting time may play in age-related declines in physical and cognitive function. This presentation explores these relationships using data from systematic reviews and observational studies.
