undefinedMetal complexes play a pivotal role as new and innovative anti-cancer drugs, and in addition exhibit promising anti-infective or other therapeutic activities. Moreover, radioactive metal complexes are widely applied in the field of tumor imaging, especially in combination with peptide receptor ligands.

Beside others metallocenes have been in the focus of intense research, due to their promising anti-proliferative activity. However, these compounds suffer from only poor bioavailability that is caused by limited water solubility and restricted uptake in living cells. We developed a concept to circumvent these drawbacks by using cell-penetrating peptides (CPP) as tools to modulate physical properties and biological activity of organometallic complexes.
