An international team coordinated by Prof. Aleksandra Trifunovic of the University of Cologne has been awarded a highly competitive Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovation Training Network grant entitled the REMIX project (REgulation of MItochondrial gene eXpression). The key aim of the REMIX network is to combine the skills of European research groups to train the next generation of scientists in a programme that will contribute to elucidating the molecular mechanisms and pathways that regulate mitochondrial gene expression.

From Radboudumc, work package leader Hans Spelbrink, Dept. of Pediatrics (photo up) and Jan Smeitink, as CEO of Khondrion, both of the theme Mitochondrial diseases are involved.
