1. Name & Nationality
Ekta Lachmandas (Dutch).

2. When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up?
Medical Doctor.

3. What was your previous academic training, where did you study?
Bachelor in Life Sciences, Nijmegen and UK.

4. What is your current function and what would you like to achieve?
I'm a a PhD  Student and I'd like to bring fundamental science closer to clinical research so we can answer the bigger questions of health in infectious diseases.

5. The RIMLS motto is 'to understand molecular mechanisms of disease'. What does this mean for you?
It means ascertaining what occurs in our body and our cells when a infectious bug strikes.

6. What is the biggest motivation in your work?
I love science :-)

7. What is your dream for the future?
To be a medical doctor with a very active career in research.

A: I grew up on an obscure island.
B: I have been bunjee jumping before.
