1. Name & Nationality
Silvia Albert, Italian, theme Sensory disorders. 

2. When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up?
A serial killer… but my parents didn’t let me train…

3. What was your previous academic training, where did you study?
I studied biology in Milan then I went to Germany for my PhD thesis.

4. What is your current function and what would you like to achieve?
I’m not sure about my function.. I try to do good science. For the moment I am a post doc who likes to play with stem cells.. we score 1-1 but I know I am more stubborn than they… so I will probably win and teach them to do what I want.

5. The RIMLS motto is 'to understand molecular mechanisms of disease'. Whatdoes this mean for you?
I guess it’s one of the main goals in scientific research. I’m glad to be part of the RIMLS because I feel totally involved in this and I hope that one day the motto will include also the words “to cure”.

6. What is the biggest motivation in your work?
I like challenges and I think that the possibility to use stem cells for understanding the mechanisms of diseases is a very good one.

7. What is your dream for the future?
To play four hands with Chick Corea
