Bé Wieringa honoured with two awards

Bé Wieringa from the department of Cell Biology received two prestigious awards for his scientific achievements and lifetime commitment for Myotonic Dystrophy, a severe neuromuscular repeat expansion disease. The first, the Award for a Trajectory in Basic Research in DM, was awarded by the IDMC, a consortium of scientists working on DM. The second award, the Lifetime Achievement Award, was awarded by the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation, a US-based patient organization for patients with myotonic dystrophy. The two awards were presented on October 19th at the 9th edition of the biennial International Myotonic Dystrophy Consortium Meeting in San Sebastián, Spain.
