Last month Erik Aarntzen & Jurjen Tel, both affiliated with the department of Tumor Immunology and Medical Oncology, defended their PhD theses with honors;

Erik H.J.G. Aarntzen, Monitoring Immune Responses in Dendritic Cell Based Vaccination; with a focus on in vivo imaging

Jurjen Tel, Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cells & Immunotherapy of Cancer.

These talented PhD students both (co)-authored on more than 18 papers each among which are publications in PNAS, Blood, Cancer Research, Journal of Clinical Oncology and Clinical Cancer Research.

Erik Aarntzen currently works as a resident at the department of Nuclear Medicine (Radboud University Nijmegen) to become a Nuclear Medicine specialist. Jurjen Tel is conducting postdoctoral research at the department of Tumor Immunology Radboud University Nijmegen) where he continues his work on plasmacytoid dendritic cells as well as the development of microfluidic tools to study immune cell behavior.
