EMBO fellowship for Walter Bronkhorst


Walter Bronkhorst, PhD student in the research group of Dr. Ronald van Rij (Dept. of Medical Microbiology), has been awarded the EMBO Long-Term Fellowship for his project entitled "Epigenetic silencing events during germline development in vertebrates". With this fellowship he will study the underlying mechanisms of transposon silencing, using zebrafish as a model system. He will perform his research in the lab of Prof. René Ketting at the Institute of Molecular Biology in Mainz, Germany.
