Han Brunner - Knighthood

Han Brunner is Professor of Human Genetics and since 1998 Head of the Department of Human Genetics at the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. The Department, comprising more than 300 people, is dynamic and internationally oriented, and without doubt one of the leading European centres for medical genetics research. Han Brunner, himself,  is an eminent clinical geneticist, internationally famous for his renowned knowledge of thousands of rare syndromes, but especially for his capacity to translate basic research into routine Diagnostics. One particular highlight in his scientific career is the discovery of the genetic causes of over fifty rare syndromes.  Han Brunner is a very inspiring speaker and capable leader coaching and motivating talented scientists and clinicians to advance themselves and the field of genetics.

On Friday 26th April, Han Brunner was honoured with the highly prestigious Knight of the Order of the Dutch Lion in view of his service to medical research.
