Junior Basal Research Prize for Manoe Janssen

Manoe Janssen, PhD student at the department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, has received the Junior Basal Research Prize during the annual meeting of the Dutch Association of the Study of the Liver (DASL), March 22-23, 2012. This prize is awarded yearly to a junior researcher working in a Dutch institution for the best scientific publication in the field of basal Hepatology. She received this prize for her publication in Gastroenterology (2011; 141(6):2056-2063) entitled "Secondary, somatic mutations might promote cyst formation in patients with autosomal dominant polycystic liver disease". This publication describes the loss of wild typePRKCSHin the cyst epithelial cells of patients with severe polycystic liver disease.
