Jack Schalken and Gerald Verhaegh, Dept. of Urology, Radboudumc, theme Urological cancers have received a Alpe D’HuZes/KWF grant (€2,015,599) for a project entitled "Urinary extracellular vesicles and their content as novel markers for minimally invasive diagnosis and prognosis of prostate cancer", together with prof Guido Jenster (Urology, Erasmus MC) and dr Connie Jimenez (Medical Oncology, VUmc).

The goal of the project is to develop robust minimally invasive assays for the diagnosis and prognosis of prostate cancer. The assays will be based on our ability to measure prostate cancer-associated changes in extracellular vesicles secreted by tumour cells into the urine.
