Karolina Andralojc MSc of the Department of Nuclear Medicine has received the Marie Curie Award 2012 for her scientific work in the field of imaging of transplanted beta cells (Andralojc K, Brom M, Joosten L, Forest D, Oyen W, Boerman O, Gotthardt M. Longitudinal imaging of transplanted islets in a rat model with SPECT).

The Marie Curie Award is the most prestigious scientific award in the field of Nuclear Medicine in Europe and is awarded to the author of the best scientific work that is presented on the EANM congress. After 1994, this is the second time that the Department of Nuclear Medicine of the Radboud UMC has received this award. The department is one of the three institutes in Europe that has received the Marie Curie Award more than once.
