Last week the NVAO (Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders) formally re-accredited the Molecular Mechanisms of Disease (MMD) research master program, which is part of the RIMLS graduate school.

Overall the programme received the distinctive grade of ‘Good’, with even an ‘Excellent’ for the learning objectives. In particular the evaluation committee was impressed by the translational approach of the programme that links fundamental research with clinical application. The form in which this is implemented was considered an international role model for comparable programmes.

As a consequence, by offering the best possible facilities and education to highly talented students to become independent researchers, the MMD programme makes an important contribution to the mission of the Radboudumc to have a significant impact on healthcare.
