Robin Kohze and Samuel Schmidt, Dept. of Biochemistry, theme Nanomedicine, have been awarded the Google Summer of Code Grant to develop a novel R-based statistical vector analysis package named Discovr in a project entitled "Streamlining statistical data analysis“.

One of the main reasons for the recent increase of R’s popularity is the fast, efficient and intuitive way to work with data sets. Discovr will provide an automated processing for the viability of the most common statistical methods thereby simplify model selections and reduce the trial and error approach during the data exploration and analysis.

The awarded grant money will be used for the development of discovr.
