In 2016 funding will be made available for approximately 5 RIHS junior researcher projects. The call for these PhD grants is now open.

The criteria for application are:

Only current Radboudumc (junior)PIs (status at January 1, 2015), affiliated with the Radboud Institute for Health Sciences, are eligible to submit a project.

Only one project per applicant can be submitted.

The project should result in a PhD graduation within Radboudumc.

The PhD student, either a Dutch or a foreign candidate, who will be appointed at the project should perform part of the research in Nijmegen and part of the research at the institute of the international partner (at least one year).
  3. Methodology development for research on personalized healthcare: Within the proposed PhD project methods should be developed that can be used by others for research.

In each category at least one project will be granted (conditional on sufficient quality). The remaining positions will be awarded based on the final ranking.

The projects should be submitted as a pre-proposal using the application form.

The procedure:

  • The Grant Review Committee of the Radboud Institute for Health Sciences will assess the pre-proposals on the aspects: 1. suitability of the project for a junior researcher; 2. innovative content; 3. scientific or societal relevance.
  • A maximum of 10-15 projects will be selected by the Grant Review Committee for submission of a full proposal.

  • The Grant Review Committee will come to a final advice based on the review and the rebuttal. The Committee will rank the projects according to 1. suitability of the project for a junior researcher; 2. innovative content; 3. scientific quality; 4. preliminary results; 5. scientific or societal relevance; 6. collaboration within or between the research theme(s).
