RIMLS - IRB Work Placement Grant

RIMLS Logo _beeldmerk _RGB

In the context of internationalization of the RIMLS Institute, a number of work-placement awards are available for PhD students and postdocs to visit the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB, Barcelona, Spain).

This initiative is a follow-up to the RIMLS and IRB PhD retreat exchanges from 2013. In a bottom-up approach to further stimulating collaboration between our institutes, financing is available for PhD students and Postdocs to visit IRB for up to 3-4 weeks. This is an excellent chance for you to learn a new technique, start a new collaboration and of course boost your CV with experience in a foreign top research institute. You should carefully consider the research question you would like to answer and the technique(s) that you would like to learn/apply. On the IRB website (www.irbbarcelona.org) you will find information about current research themes, group leaders and technology platforms. Via PubMed of course you will find scientific literature regarding specific tools/techniques/methods in use. We also encourage you to obtain additional funding from International office of our university (www.ru.nl/io), Erasmus exchange programs (www.esn.org), etc.

The final awards will be made based on CV of the candidate, the learning objective and a suitable match with an IRB group leader. You do not need to contact IRB group leaders yourselves; we will coordinate this for you. Once a work placement has been awarded, a date will be set in discussion with the parties involved.
