Cnossen, Wybrich

Drs. Wybrich Cnossen wins the 'Rolduc Award' of the Genetica Retraite.

The Genetica Retraite is an annual meeting for young researchers from the Dutch universities. The meeting enables researches to get acquainted with genetic studies in other Dutch centers by formal presentations and personal contact. Since 2005 a 'Rolduc Award', a funny piece of ceramic work by Roos Engelen, is presented to the best contributor.

The jury rewarded Wybrich Cnossen, junior researcher from the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, with the first prize as best speaker for the presentation entitled 'Identification of a novel gene associated with polycystic liver and kidney diseases'. This research involves the identification of the genetic background of polycystic liver disease in PCLD patients by next generation sequencing. The prizes, a 'Rolduc Award' and a mini iPad, were assigned at March 22nd, 2013.
