Stronger statement for Open Access

Earlier this week, you received an announcement that Oxford University Press and VSNU haven’t come to an agreement about access to the OUP journals. This means that from 1 May onwards, Dutch researchers do not have digital access to OUP scientific articles anymore. In the announcement, it was stated that researchers may continue to publish their papers in the OUP journals.

The three Radboudumc research institutes, however, feel that a stronger statement is possible. More specifically, researchers are requested to consider stopping with submission of their papers to the OUP journals, and to reject invitations for reviewing submitted papers. Editors of the journals may also consider to resign. We hope of course that all of this is temporary and that an agreement with OUP is reached in due course.
