Short Research Introduction:

Malnutrition is an underestimated problem in hospitals, with a high prevalence of 25%. This may due to treatment and illness and leads to high morbidity and mortality. An appropriate foodservice is essential to minimize  deterioration of the nutritional status and other clinical outcomes. FoodforCare is a new promising foodservice: patients will receive meals 6 to 7 times a day, instead of 3 times a day.

Since August 2015, I am coordinating a clinical study to compare the food intake (protein and energy), the nutritional status and other clinical outcomes, between patients receiving FoodforCare and the regular hospital foodservice.
