Reconstructive and regenerative medicine


I graduated in Technical Medicine (University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands) after a one year internship at the department of Urology (Radboud UMC, Nijmegen, The Netherlands). After my graduation I continued my research as a PhD student, where I'm working on the development of new tubular constructs for urogenital tissue engineering applications.

National & International Personal Prizes & Awards

  • October 2013: 1st prize best oral presentation. A 10 minute presentation during the annual Dutch Society for Technical Medicine (NVvTG) conference (Utrecht, The Netherlands), titled: "Ureteral reconstruction using tubular collagen scaffolds".
  • April 2013: 3rd prize basic research poster presentation. A 3 minute presentation during the European Society for Paediatric Urology (ESPU) annual meeting (Genoa, Italy), titled: 'Prenatal covarage of an experimental spina bifida defect by gluing a growth factor loaded collagen scaffold improves neurological outcome'.
