Renal disorders

My current interests include the pathophysiology of the hemolytic uremic syndromes in particular the hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) caused by shiga toxin producing E.coli (STEC) infections and the atypical HUS caused by dysregulation of the complement system as well as the complement mediated renal disorders C3 glomerulopathy.  Our laboratory performs the clinic-immunological and genetic diagnostics for HUS and C3G in  the  Netherlands.
