Inflammatory diseases


Peter van Lent has studied medical biology and is specialized in immunology and experimental pathology. He is now workgroup leader in the department of Experimental Rheumatology and Advanced Therapeutics in Nijmegen in the Netherlands. The aim of his research is to elucidate mechanisms involved in cartilage and bone destruction in experimental models of RA and OA. In recent years he has particularly focused on studying the role of macrophages and macrophage related proteins in driving joint destruction.

National & International Personal Prizes & Awards

2014: EWRR 2014, Lissabon, Portugal,20-22 febr 2014: Best Abstract award second price.

2013: OARSI, Philadelphia, USA, 18 -21 april 2013: investigation award.

2012: Two EULAR awards. The prizes for scientific excellence of the abstract were awarded by two independent committees of the OARSI and the EULAR 2012 EWRR 2012 Abstract Award "Activating Fcγ Receptors Mediate Immune Complex-induced Inhibition of Osteoclastogenesis".
