Profile

During my graduation research for the master Technical Medicine (University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands) I have performed a one-year research project in the Department of Orthopedics (University Medical Center Utrecht, Utrecht, The Netherlands). During the internship I learned a lot about the clinical context of cartilage and got intrigued by the musculoskeletal system and patients suffering from musculoskeletal disabilities. Therefore I started a PhD study in the field of musculoskeletal tissue engineering. My goal of the project is to develop a 'smart' biomimetic scaffold, mimicking the development and environment of cartilage and bone.
