Stress-related disorders


Aart Schene did his medical training at the University of Amsterdam and his psychiatric training at Utrecht University Hospital. Before coming to the Radboudumc, he worked for more than 20 years as psychiatrist, head of the program for mood disorders, PI, head of the resident training and professor of psychiatry at the Academic Medical Center/University of Amsterdam. Since January 2014 he is professor of psychiatry and head at the department of psychiatry, Radboudumc in Nijmegen. His scientific field of interest is mood disorders, both unipolar and bipolar disorders. He is PI at the Donders Institute and theme leader of the theme Stress-related Disorders at the Radboudumc. He is chair of the Committee Quality of Care of the Dutch Association of Psychiatry and also chairing the program committee of the newly established Network Quality Development in Mental Health Care. In 1993 he established the European Network for Mental Health Service Evaluation of which he is still a board member.
